IgnoreFromParent feature added to Orx Print
09 June 2017

For those who want to experiment, a new small-but-useful feature has been added to the development version of Orx. It allows to specify which part(s) of a frame transformation coming from a parent you want to ignore.

In short it means that you can have a child object, spawner or camera that can ignore the parent's, rotation, position or scale. Or to scale an object without scaling its children, be them particles, camera, attachments, etc.

This can all be configured via your game's config instead of having position updates in code.

This is incredibly useful for creating shadow effects or attachments to an object that should not rotate or scale when the parent does.

There are a couple of useful examples here and here, and a more comprehensive tutorial on all the possibilities is in currently in progress.
