There has been a lot of changes since the last release. You can find an exhaustive list in the CHANGELOG file from any package or here.

Here's a summary:

- Added new platform with full support: iPhone (iPod Touch/iPad)
- Orx is now published under the zlib license
- Added Unicode support with UTF-8
- Added custom bitmap font support
- Texts can use localized fonts using the locale module in the same way as for string content
- Added the orxFontGen tool to create orx-compatible bitmap fonts
- Added new GLFW default plugins for embedded versions, 35-40% faster
- With new display plugin, per-object shaders now work as intended
- Added new OpenAL/libsndfile/stb_vorbis default audio plugin for embedded versions
- Added an internal texture called "pixel" that holds a white pixel
- Added automatically generated coordinates for shader textures: Texture MyTex -> MyTex_Top, MyTex_Left, MyTex_Right & MyTex_Bottom
- Added orxObject_BoxPick() for picking objects intersecting with box
- Added orxMOUSE_X and orxMOUSE_Y as valid inputs for the generic input system
- Added HSL/HSV color space support with HSL<->RGB & HSV<->RGB conversion functions
- Added ParentCamera property for cameras (useful for cascading cameras or Fixed/UI camera trick for portrait<->landscape adaptation)
- Added some new orxConfig_* functions for advanced config manipulations
- Default minimal frequency for the home made renderer plugin is now 10Hz (was 60Hz).
- Some optims / fixes / cleaning

My pleasure!

I hope we'll soon see some more projects done with orx, iPhone or not!

PS: I've also reactivated the feature allowing to render a viewport to a texture that can then be reused by objects. It's not in the release though, only on the SVN.

Im not sure if its meant to be like this but for some reason all the downloads contain no folders, instead the files are called
E.g: orx/mingw/bin/...
So when you try to build it it looks for the folders but cant find them.

The SVN seems to be fine however.
Just starting out so it might be that im doing something wrong but just thought id mention it

Ah interesting!
Which tool are you using to decompress the archives and on which platforms?

Im on ubuntu and am using the archive manager, fileroller
I have windows on my desktop so I will check with winzip and 7zip when I go on that

And not sure if this is the right place to ask but, are there any plans to upgrade some of the dependencies? like SFML from 1.5 to 2.0?

Thanks, let me know if it works better with other utilities. It worked well with IZArc on windows for me.

As for the dependencies, I try to keep them as updated as possible for the one orx is actually using.
SFML is only used for the non-embedded version and is still there only for retrocompatibility.
The embedded version (based on GLFW by default but SDL is also available for non-mac computers) is the version you should use. The non-embedded one is becoming deprecated as GLFW nor SDL can be used for it due to its multi-dll architecture. SFML isn't flexible enough for shader support and, as of version 1.5, was producing worse performance than GLFW (about twice as slow).
